PHP is a scripting language commonly used with MySQL for server-side database access from the client’s computer. Like ASP, PHP can be used to create dynamic web pages that display visitor-targeted information such as a visitor-selected color scheme or layout, products or services the visitor may be interested in based on past preferences, or even location-specific information like time, weather, or local news. PHP is supported by most servers (unlike ASP, which requires specific software to be running on the server).
